Record entry at Narradale

The first long race in the 2012 Rentokil Manx Fell League on Sunday 1st April saw a record entry of 50 runners - a great turnout for one of the tougher courses in the calendar.

Sunny conditions for the Up and Running sponsored 20Km race led to a number of records being broken.

This contrasted with the last race in 2010, when wind, rain and navigation caused major problems for the small field of 17 starters.

Thanks to the organisers, landowners, and other helpers.

Draft results here:  narradale2012_results1.pdf.

Dave Phillips Memorial road run round 3

Sponsored by Sweeney Todd

Numbers were down a little on previous rounds due to runners being involved in other events on island this weekend. Still there was a healthy turnout of 65 runners in total, the wind and odd rally car made running interesting  but all the runners seemed to enjoy the event. A big thank you to all the marshals and officials who stood around in the cold this evening so that the races could be run.

The next round is on the 15th June.

All results are provisional and subject to change, please email wac@manx.net if you spot any errors.

You all did your club proud, and it was great to see so many smiling faces no matter where you finished in your event. Congratulations if you were lucky enough to win a medal it prove that all you hard work training was worth it.

What made the two days so special were seeing so many of you all enjoying your sport and having fun keep up the good work.

Well done to all who took part in round 5 in the series. Even though numbers were down due to the date being rearranged and the no rest for the wicked looming 44 runners still took part.

Peel Hill

Well done to all who competed in this year’s Peel Hill race in what was less than ideal conditions on the hill. With the mist closing in the race got under way at 7pm and by the time the first runners made the top the visibility was down to only a few feet which made for some interesting running.

Thanks go to all the officials and marshals, also a special thanks to the Moore quartet for marking the course out earlier in the day. For a full list of results click the button below.

Just to let you know that at the IOMAA committee meeting last night, the decision was taken to continue with the combined A and B Team IOM in next season's Northern League.

The feeling was that the trial year had been a great success - the Ateam won all four events and will be promoted from Division 3 to Division 2, and the B team came third in their Division, which was very impressive, considering they only competed in 3 out of 4 events.

A vote of thanks was given for Anthony and for Louise, for all their hard work in making this such a successful season.
