Isle of Man AA – Track and Field Championship
Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July 2011
We saw some top athletics take place over the two days in all age groups, which was made even better because of the fine weather. With many gaining new PBs or seasons bests. A big thank you to all who helped put on this event.
Well done to all who took part and congratulations to all our club medal winners.

BERMUDA ISLAND GAMES 2013
The IOMAA has launched a savings scheme for those athletes and families/supporters who hope to attend the Island Games in Bermuda in July 2013. If you would like the opportunity to make regular savings commencing 1st August 2011 to 1st March 2013 towards the costs of transport and accommodation, please contact Cheryl on email@example.com for more information.
David Teece 5K & Bushys Great South Run 2011
The Moore brothers Jason (2nd) & Shaun (3rd) kept the club colours flying in the 5k race, while dad Barry finished 20th and Jason Cochrane came in 39th out of 56 in the 10k race. For a full roundup of results click here

Well-done to all our winners at our annual prize presentation for this year’s Summer Track and Field league. Also to our athletes who gained full attendance certificates for the summer and those who won special awards in various categories . Over the ten weeks the club nights averaged 120 athletes every Thursday evening, with some nights up into the 140+ bracket.
A Big thank you goes out to all the committee members who without; the evening would not go ahead as smoothly each year and a special thank you to all who helped prepare the buffet, you know who you are. Finally to our sponsors G.J. Ingham & Sons who without we wouldn’t be able to give our athlete these well-deserved awards.
Western 10 road race & Julie Brew 10 mile Memorial Walk
Congratulations to all who took part in this year’s road run and Julies memorial walk. In less than favourable conditions over 100 competitors set of to conquer the 10 mile course, which is a tough course in good weather. Thank you to all the officials and marshals for standing out in the rain ensuring that the competitors went the correct way and kept safe at all times. Also to Julies family for giving out the medals at the end and to Peel Football Club for allowing the club to put on a buffet (thanks ladies) and presentation. Hope to see you all again next year.
Well done to all our club athletes who ran in the Liverpool Marathon over a hilly course. With a delayed start and bad weather towards the end of the race our runner managed to record the following times. For further details click here
In less than favourable weather conditions saw a field of 70 runners take to the resurrected Peel to Douglas in its new format as a trail run. Many thanks to the organisers and helpers for staging this well received event. Well done to all our club runners who took part in this new event.
The Clocks have gone back and the dark evenings are here again. As an incentive to keep on training or if you just want to get fit or fitter, why not join us at 6:15pm every Wednesday (even in the rain) at the QE2 for a pack run around Peel. You must be able to run upto 5 miles. Please wear reflective bibs or light coloured clothes also that the run is not for junior members.
Winter Hill League - Glen Helen
Ideal conditions saw another good turnout for the second hill race in the series, held over the Glen Helen course. With some fine performances from the Islands senior runners, the win going to Lloyd Taggart, Simon Skillicorn 2nd and Tom Cringle 3rd. Also in the ladies race Jackie Lee came in ahead of second place Rebecca Wallace with third place going to Rosie Craine.
Western had a good turnout of runners across all age groups, with the best performance coming from our juniors Jason Moore finishing in an excellent 8th overall, Will Morris 9th, Shaun Moore 15th and Wills older brother Jak Morris 17th. Well-done to all our club runners listed below.

Medis 2011/12 X-Country
Round 3 Glen Lough Farm
Well - done to all our athletes both young and old who took part in round 3 x-country races over the weekend. Sundays race saw a large number of runners taking part with some running there first x-country since high school.
Also a big thank you to Gordie, Barry and Roy for giving up their Sunday morning to mark out the course and ensure the route where safe to run on. Also to all the officials and helpers on the day who without the races couldn't go ahead.
Haldane Fisher 'Syd Quirk' 1/2 Marathon Run and Walk
Well done to all our club athletes who took part in this years dry but windy races. With the club gaining two category firsts in Jackie, Helen and Richard a fine second.

Manx Fell Runners ‐ Winter Hill League 2011
Congratulations to Jason Moore for finishing 3rd overall in the league, with fellow team mate Jak Morris 4th. Also in the top 10 finishers Jasons brother Shaun. In the end the club had 10 finishers in the league, for a full round up click here.
