The 'No Rest for the Wicked' series now consists of six fabulous and different races in just 6 days around the beautiful Isle of Man. Whilst each race is run as an individual race, with its own prizes and presentation, No Rest for the Wicked competitors take part in one of two separate categories determined by their entry in either the Marathon or Half marathon.



Sunday 11th August The Isle of Man Marathon or half Marathon, hosted by the IoM Vet's Athletic Club.  

NRW competitors can now choose between the two separate categories - full marathon or half marathon.  

Race numbers will be allocated at the registration desk on the morning of race day.

The registration desk will be open at race headquarters from 07:30 a.m. on race day.  The races will be run over the Manx Northern course, starting and finishing in Ramsey.   The race HQ will be at the Ballacloan Stadium, North Shore Road, Ramsey,   where there are changing and toilet and shower facilities.We do not send confirmation of entry or race numbers by post.  If you give your email address on your entry form, we will confirm receipt and acceptance of your entry.

Monday 12th August The Peel Hill Run, put on by Western Athletic Club.  This out and back course is just shy of 4 miles and involves the ascent of Peel Hill, to Corrin's Folly before the downhill sprint back to the start line.

Signing on is from 6:15 pm for a 7pm start @ Creg Mallin Hotel Peel.

Cost is £4 for athletic club members or £6 for athletes 'unattached' to a club.

Tuesday 13th August Northern 10k  Northern Athletic Club host a 10km road race around Ramsey.  This 3 lap affair is largely flat, with one small rise near the beginning of each lap.Starting from the park, along Mooragh Promenade past the site of the former Grand Island hotel and back down Bowring Road. Turn onto North Shore Road then back into the park to complete the first lap of three.

Cost is £4 for athletic club members or £6 for unattached.

The race starts at 7pm. Sign on at the Lakeside cafe from 6:15pm


Wednesday 14th August Colden Killer Mile

To be held on Wednesday 14th August the Colden Killer Mile will be held on the northern side of Colden Plantation. The course will be 95% uphill, there is a short slightly down hill section mid way, and will be on the main plantation fire track. The terrain allows for road or trail shoes with the ascent varying from steep to gradual.


Runners will set off individually at 30 second intervals, with positions decided by their finishing time at the top. Starting times will be decided by lottery. Entries will also be taken on the day but runners will have to slot in on whatever starting times are still available. Maximum entry is 120 competitors. Entry fee, which will be £3.00, payable at registration on race day.  


Thursday 15th August Foxdale 6.  This hilly 6 miler is all on the road but after a lightening quick first mile you'll suddenly realise that things start to get a bit on the steep side.

Signing on is from 6.15pm at Foxdale School where there are toilet and changing facilities.

The final event, on Friday 16th August. Western Athletics Club are hosting the Peel Heritage Trail Run, which is approximately 7 miles.  The course is 80% off road on flat or undulating trails.  This stunning run takes in the old railway line from Peel to St Johns and then St Johns to the old station.  Just when you think that the scenery can't get any better the course will take you on to the coastal footpath back to Peel and the prize presentation.

Signing on is from 6:15 pm for a 7pm start  @ Transport Museum mill road Peel.

NRW placings will be calculated on cumulative time, so there'll be no slacking just because you're in front of the next competitor!

The final race is followed by a presentation at Peel Football Club and will include the awards for the series winners. There will also be exclusive T-shirts given to the first 15 who complete the Marathon series and the first 15 who complete the Half-Marathon series.


We hope to see you on the Isle of Man in 2014 because, when it comes to running, there really is
